Why Should I PAT Test?

Although PAT testing is not compulsory by law, it is widely regarded as being the best way of meeting the electrical regulations that exist to protect employees, customers and tenants. PAT testing is a great way of preventing an electrical accident giving the owner and the user of the appliance piece of mind that it was safe to use at the point of checks being carried out.

There is no getting away from it, portable appliances do get damaged during use, and this potential damage could render the equipment dangerous to use. Without having a regular programme of testing and inspection, you have not taken reasonable steps to ensure the safety of users.

PAT testing should be made at regular intervals, taking in to account the rate of use of the equipment and the application it is used in.
