PAT Certificate For Edinburgh Landlord £50
Updated: Apr 10, 2020
Another PAT Certificate carried out today for an Edinburgh Landlord for the discounted price of £50 (Vat Free). We don't just PAT test the major appliances such as cookers, fridges and washing machines we also PAT test the smaller appliances such as kettles, toasters and lamps as long as they belong to the Landlord. Visual inspection is the most important check that we carry out when PAT testing a Landlord property. One of the most important things we check is that all appliances under 700w are fitted with a 3amp fuse in the plug. This will ensure the appliance cable has maximum protection as many people assume all UK plugs should be fitted with 13amp fuse and this just isn't the case. In addition to this, when the plug top is open we check that there are no loose wires as this is often what makes a plug become hot and lead to potential fires. We also inspect the cable itself as this can also become damaged which can lead to electric shock if touched.
You will find that the Health and Safety Executive along with insurance companies will recommend you to perform PAT testing to ensure that you are compliant with certain regulations. This will be the case for most businesses and landlords.
We have listed the regulations below.
Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974
The Electricity at Work Regulations of 1989
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations of 1998
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations of 1999
